The National Medical Commission (NMC) has approved the addition of new MBBS seats and the establishment of new medical colleges across various states in India for the academic year 2024-25. Telangana has added 400 seats by establishing eight new medical colleges, raising the state's total to 34. Goa Medical College has received permission to increase its MBBS seats to 200 and expand postgraduate course seats. Uttar Pradesh has been granted 600 new MBBS seats through five new medical colleges and increased seats in existing ones. Additionally, a private college in Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab, received approval for 50 MBBS seats. These expansions aim to address the growing demand for medical education and healthcare services in the respective regions.
