Three Killed in Smith Lake Fishing Tournament Crash
Three people were killed and at least three others injured in a two-boat collision on Lewis Smith Lake in Cullman County, Alabama, during the Major League Fishing Tackle Warehouse Invitational on April 16. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency identified the deceased as Joey M. Broom, John K. Clark, and Jeffrey C. Little, all occupants of a Center Console vessel struck by a Nitro bass boat. Broom died at the scene, while Clark and Little drowned after being ejected from the boat. Professional angler Flint Davis was also involved in the crash, but his condition remains unconfirmed. Emergency responders, including a helicopter, arrived quickly, and the tournament was canceled out of respect for the victims. Authorities and Major League Fishing have expressed condolences, and the investigation is ongoing.
