US Consortium Completes Rangers Takeover and Investment

Andrew Cavenagh becomes chairman, and Paraag Marathe, also chairman of Leeds United and president of 49ers Enterprises, is vice-chairman. The takeover includes an immediate £20 million investment focused on strengthening the squad and improving performance, with a commitment to financial sustainability. Rangers finished well behind rivals Celtic this season and are finalizing the appointment of a new manager, with Davide Ancelotti among the frontrunners, while Kevin Thelwell is set to start as sporting director. The new ownership stresses independence from other 49ers-affiliated clubs and aims to restore Rangers’ status in Scottish and European football.
