Royals Promote Top Prospect Jac Caglianone to Triple-A Omaha

Kansas City Royals' top prospect Jac Caglianone has been promoted from Double-A Northwest Arkansas to Triple-A Omaha, bringing him one step closer to his MLB debut. Caglianone, a 22-year-old left-handed hitter who starred as a two-way player at the University of Florida, has impressed this season with a .322/.394/.553 slash line, nine home runs, and 43 RBIs, leading the Texas League in RBIs. Although primarily a first baseman this season, he has also played outfield, including right field, a position where the Royals currently struggle offensively. Despite the Royals sitting fourth in the AL Central and having one of MLB's weakest offenses—with the fewest home runs and low run production—the organization has taken a cautious approach to Caglianone's development, promoting him to Triple-A but not rushing his major league debut.
