Nebraska Cancels Tennessee Games, Adds Bowling Green, Miami

The University of Nebraska has canceled its non-conference football matchups against the University of Tennessee for the 2026 and 2027 seasons, replacing them with games against Bowling Green and Miami (Ohio). Nebraska's Director of Athletics, Troy Dannen, stated that these changes are part of plans for major renovations to Memorial Stadium, which may affect seating capacity in 2027. The addition of these games aims to ensure eight home games in 2027 to mitigate potential revenue losses. This schedule will mark the first time since 2013 that Nebraska hosts eight home games in a season. Furthermore, Nebraska has announced a matchup against Northern Iowa in 2027, completing its non-conference schedule. The new opponents Bowling Green and Miami will be first-time matchups for Nebraska football.
