Tom Cruise to Star in Doug Liman's 'Deeper'

Tom Cruise is confirmed to star in the upcoming supernatural thriller 'Deeper', directed by Doug Liman, who is excited to explore the horror genre for the first time. The film, centered on an astronaut facing a terrifying force during a deep dive into an uncharted trench, has been in development for nearly a decade, originally pitched to MGM in 2016. Despite previous attempts to bring the project to life with different actors and directors, it has now found a home at Warner Bros. Liman and Cruise are also collaborating on a NASA-themed film to be shot in space with SpaceX. Additionally, Cruise is in talks for a sequel to his 1990 NASCAR drama 'Days of Thunder', produced by Paramount Pictures.
