Subaru Unveils Rugged 2026 Trailseeker EV in NY

Subaru has officially unveiled the 2026 Trailseeker, its most rugged electric SUV to date, at the New York International Auto Show. The Trailseeker features a twin-motor all-wheel-drive system delivering approximately 375bhp, a 0-62mph time of about 4.4 seconds, and a range exceeding 260 miles from a 74.7kWh battery. It offers a towing capacity of up to 1,588kg and off-road capabilities such as X-Mode with multiple terrain settings and 211mm ground clearance. The spacious, family-oriented interior includes a 14-inch touchscreen. Developed with Toyota, the Trailseeker shares technology with the Solterra and may relate to the Toyota C-HR+. Subaru aims for the Trailseeker to compete with the Tesla Model Y and Hyundai Ioniq 5, reinforcing its EV ambitions as other automakers scale back.
