The Queen of Versailles Musical Opens at St. James Theatre This Fall

The musical The Queen of Versailles, featuring Kristin Chenoweth and F. Murray Abraham, will debut on Broadway at the St. James Theatre, with previews starting on October 8 and an official opening on November 10. Adapted from a 2012 documentary, the show tells the story of Jackie and David Siegel's ambitious attempt to build the largest private home in America, only to face challenges from the 2008 recession. Stephen Schwartz, known for Wicked, provides the score, while Lindsey Ferrentino pens the book and Michael Arden directs. Chenoweth, who is also producing the musical, expressed her excitement about returning to Broadway and collaborating with Schwartz again. The production will feature a talented creative team, including choreographers Lauren Yalango-Grant and Christopher Cree Grant. Additional casting will be announced later, as the show builds anticipation following its world premiere in Boston earlier in 2024.
