On Friday, ten flights were canceled at Chennai International Airport due to an airspace closure linked to an upcoming airshow, impacting both domestic and international travel. The cancellations affected flights to and from major destinations including Mumbai, Bengaluru, Sri Lanka, and the Andamans, with operations disrupted between 11 am and 1 pm. Airlines cited 'operational reasons' for some cancellations, which may include low passenger loads or technical issues. Airport officials had announced the airspace closure in advance, but many passengers were informed of cancellations just hours before their flights. Meanwhile, in Karachi, several flights were also canceled for technical and operational reasons, affecting routes to Dubai, Lahore, and Islamabad. Passengers in both cities were assured that alternative arrangements were being made where possible.
