Suspect Dies Following Police Pursuit Crash in Huntington Beach
A high-speed police pursuit in Huntington Beach early Saturday morning ended tragically when the driver of a black SUV died after crashing into another vehicle and a pole. The pursuit began following reports of reckless driving and running red lights near Pacific Coast Highway and Brookhurst Street. Despite police attempts to stop the vehicle near Beach Boulevard and Talbert Avenue, the driver fled north until crashing at Beach Boulevard and Warner Avenue. The driver succumbed to injuries at the scene despite life-saving efforts, while the woman in the other vehicle was injured and taken to a hospital. Additionally, a dog in the suspect's vehicle was injured and received veterinary care. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the incident, and the crash caused significant local traffic disruptions.
