AWS Plans $8.3B Cloud Investment in Maharashtra, $60B in Telangana

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced significant investments in India's cloud infrastructure, committing $8.3 billion in Maharashtra and ₹60,000 crore in Telangana. The Maharashtra investment is part of a broader $12.7 billion plan aimed at boosting cloud computing capabilities and is projected to contribute $15.3 billion to India's GDP while creating over 81,300 jobs annually in the local data center supply chain. In Telangana, AWS's expansion will enhance its data center capacity in Hyderabad and support future growth in cloud services and AI applications. This announcement follows negotiations at the World Economic Forum in Davos, where AWS officials met with state leaders to formalize these investment plans.
