Governments Boost Loans for Women Entrepreneurs in India, US, Azerbaijan

Women entrepreneurs are making significant strides globally, particularly in India and the U.S. In India, government initiatives have bolstered the growth of women-led businesses, with a NITI Aayog report indicating that 20% of MSMEs are owned by women, supported by various financial schemes totaling ₹2.22 lakh crore in loans for FY 2023-24. Meanwhile, in the U.S., women-owned businesses accounted for nearly 40% of all businesses and generated $2.7 trillion in revenue, with a notable increase in funding and loan approvals over recent years. African American and Latina women-owned businesses have shown exceptional growth, outperforming their male counterparts in revenue increases. Additionally, in Azerbaijan, women represent 23% of entrepreneurs, receiving support from the Small and Medium Business Development Agency for training and financial assistance, fostering sustainable economic development.
