The No. 24 West Virginia University baseball team secured a series win over Cincinnati with consecutive victories, extending their winning streak to 13 games—matching their longest streak of the season. In Thursday's opener, strong pitching performances from Griffin Kirn and Chase Meyer led the Mountaineers to a narrow 3-2 win, with Jace Rinehart providing crucial RBIs. On Friday, home runs by Logan Sauve, Jace Rinehart, and Grant Hussey powered West Virginia to a 6-4 victory before one of the largest home crowds in program history. Head coach Steve Sabins attributed the team's continued success to their process-oriented approach, emphasizing consistent execution over focusing on win totals. The Mountaineers now hold a 33-4 overall record and 12-3 in the Big 12, with nearly all wins during their current streak coming against Power Conference opponents. West Virginia will aim for a series sweep in the next game.
