Attempted Robbery Ends in Gunfire at Chipotle

An attempted carjacking at a Chipotle restaurant in Bowie, Maryland, escalated into a gunfire incident on Monday evening. Police reported that three armed men approached a victim in the parking lot, leading the victim to flee inside the restaurant, where a struggle ensued and a gun was discharged. Fortunately, no injuries were reported among the patrons or employees present during the altercation. The suspects escaped in a stolen black Chevrolet Camaro with D.C. license plates. Bowie Police Chief Dwayne Preston emphasized that such crimes are part of a broader regional issue, with carjackings continuing to be a significant concern in Prince George’s County. The restaurant has since increased security measures in response to the incident.
