Stewart, 83, specifically objected to the closing scenes and the classical music score, preferring rap music by Dr. Dre or Snoop Dogg to better reflect her personality. She felt the film overly focused on her trial and imprisonment, which she considered minor in the context of her life, and was disappointed by the exclusion of significant details, like a sleeping judge during her trial. Despite these criticisms, Stewart appreciated parts of the documentary that highlighted lesser-known aspects of her early life and career. Cutler defended his work, calling it a story of a 'complicated and visionary' individual. The documentary also touches on Stewart's personal challenges, including her marriage and the impact of her upbringing on her homemaking career.
