HBO's Harry Potter Series Faces 2027 Delay

HBO's new Harry Potter TV series is set to begin filming in the summer of 2025 at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, with a revised release date of 2027. Over 32,000 children auditioned for roles, including the iconic trio of Harry, Ron, and Hermione, as the series aims to dive deeper into the story with a fresh cast. Showrunner Francesca Gardiner and director Mark Mylod are committed to a faithful adaptation of J.K. Rowling's novels, bringing back characters like Peeves, who were omitted from the films. The series will explore new locations within Hogwarts, aiming for a more comprehensive storytelling format with eight episodes dedicated to the first book alone.
