Hero MotoCorp Appoints Harshavardhan Chitale CEO From January 2026

Hero MotoCorp has appointed Harshavardhan Chitale as its new CEO, effective January 5, 2026, succeeding acting CEO Vikram Kasbekar, who will continue as Executive Director and Chief Technology Officer. Chitale brings over 30 years of global leadership experience across business-to-business and business-to-consumer sectors, with expertise in industrial automation, lighting, IT services, and digital transformation. He previously served as Global CEO of Signify’s €4 billion Professional Business, managing 12,000 employees in 70 countries, and as Vice Chairman & Managing Director of Philips Lighting India, where he led the company’s spin-off into a standalone publicly listed entity. Hero MotoCorp Chairman Pawan Munjal highlighted Chitale's track record in driving growth and innovation, emphasizing his role in accelerating the company's journey in electric and emerging mobility, premiumization, digitalization, and sustainability. Chitale is an alumnus of IIT Delhi and an active angel investor in sectors including electric vehicles and clean energy. Following the announcement, Hero MotoCorp's shares rose over 1.5% on the National Stock Exchange.
