Atlantic City Mayor Faces New Witness Tampering Charges

Prosecutors claim that Small asked his daughter to falsely state that a head injury occurred from a fall, rather than from the alleged abuse, as part of efforts to alter her statements to investigators. The couple, who deny the allegations, were charged with child endangerment and other offenses related to incidents occurring last winter. Small's lawyer has dismissed the witness tampering charge as 'sheer nonsense', arguing that Small encouraged his daughter to provide truthful statements. The alleged witness tampering occurred shortly before a grand jury indictment was handed down, complicating the legal proceedings against the Smalls.
