Factory Fire Destroys 3,000 Electric Bikes in Vietnam
A massive fire at the DK Vietnam-Japan Electric Vehicle Company in Lang Son City, northern Vietnam, destroyed approximately 3,000 electric bikes and motorbikes, along with over 2,000 motorcycle components, on Friday morning. The blaze erupted around 7 AM, reportedly originating on the second floor of a warehouse and quickly spreading throughout the facility, leading to several explosions due to equipment and battery presence. Fortunately, no casualties were reported as the fire occurred outside working hours, and all workers present managed to escape unharmed. The fire has been mostly extinguished, and local authorities are investigating its cause. DK Bike, a joint venture established in 2009, specializes in manufacturing electric bicycles and motorcycles and has a production capacity of up to 600 vehicles per day. The incident highlights the vulnerabilities of manufacturing facilities dealing with high-voltage equipment and flammable materials.
