Seven Dead in Fiery Idaho Highway Crash

A Utah family traveling near Island Park, Idaho, became involved in a desperate rescue effort after witnessing a deadly crash between a pickup truck and a van carrying international tourists. Terah Motzkus and her husband rushed to aid survivors, using an ax and other tools to try to free those trapped as flames and smoke engulfed the van. Despite the efforts of the Motzkus family, other bystanders, and arriving deputies, several people remained trapped as the fire intensified, with rescuers using fire extinguishers and water bottles to try to control the blaze.
