Storm Darragh wreaked havoc across multiple regions in the UK, prompting a surge in emergency calls to police and fire services. Warwickshire Police reported a record number of 671 calls, including responses to a man critically injured by a falling tree and the collapse of a historic building. In North Wales, over 200 calls were made to the fire service as gusts reached up to 90mph, causing significant property damage and power outages. Staffordshire crews managed between 400 and 500 incidents of fallen trees and flooding, while Lincolnshire Police reported around 100 calls related to the storm. Tragically, two fatalities were recorded, with victims in Birmingham and Lancashire due to falling trees. Authorities continue to advise the public to exercise caution as weather warnings remain in effect.
