Woman Dies Man Critically Injured Crash A96 Highlands
A fatal collision occurred on the A96 Inverness to Nairn road near Inverness Airport involving a red Vauxhall Insignia car and a white Ford Transit Tipper van. The passenger of the car, identified as 65-year-old Alison Campbell, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the 69-year-old male driver was critically injured and taken to Raigmore Hospital. The van driver was uninjured. The road was closed for approximately eight hours to allow collision investigators to examine the crash site before reopening. Police Scotland has launched an investigation and is appealing for witnesses or anyone with dash-cam footage to come forward to assist with inquiries. Sergeant Kate Finlayson extended condolences to the victim's family and emphasized the ongoing efforts to establish the full circumstances of the crash.
