Josh Gad, Andrew Rannells Expected to Star in Hulu Stay Tuned Series

Josh Gad and Andrew Rannells, known for their acclaimed Broadway performances in The Book of Mormon and Gutenberg! The Musical, are set to star in and executive produce a Hulu comedy series loosely based on the 1992 cult film Stay Tuned. The original movie featured a couple trapped inside their television, navigating a series of twisted TV shows, and the new series reimagines this premise with Gad and Rannells trapped on the wrong side of the screen, confronting modern binge-worthy TV content. Created by Akiva Goldsman, Jordan Cahan, and Greg Lessans, with Cahan as showrunner, the project marks Gad and Rannells' first major screen collaboration beyond brief cameos. Both actors highlight their longstanding friendship and comedic chemistry, jokingly comparing themselves to classic TV duos like Laverne and Shirley and Sam and Diane. The series is produced by 20th Television and Morgan Creek, with no official series order or production timeline announced yet.
