Saints, Louisiana Sign Superdome Lease Through 2035
Gov. Jeff Landry and Saints owner Gayle Benson signed a new 10-year lease keeping the New Orleans Saints at the Caesars Superdome through at least 2035, with up to four five-year renewal options that could extend the agreement through 2055. The deal resolves lengthy, sometimes contentious negotiations over stadium terms, related real estate and revenue issues — including Benson Tower, Champions Square and the team’s practice facility. The package will be formally submitted to the NFL for review, clearing the way for the Saints to pursue a bid for the 2031 Super Bowl, though New Orleans missed the NFL’s initial shortlist deadline while talks continued. The Superdome, which has hosted eight Super Bowls and underwent major renovations and repairs after Hurricane Katrina, is also slated to host the 2028 College Football National Championship. Officials said the agreement preserves the team’s long-term presence in New Orleans and is intended to promote future economic benefits for the city and state.
