H-E-B Honors Texas Educators with $480,000 in Awards

The 2025 H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards honored outstanding Texas educators, school boards, and school districts, distributing $480,000 in cash and grants to recognize their dedication and impact. Notable winners included Abigail Eliezer of Klentzman Intermediate School, who received the Elementary Lifetime Achievement Award, and Dr. Alicia Adkins of I.H. Kempner High School, recipient of the Secondary Leadership Award. The Lamar Consolidated Independent School District's board was also recognized for its leadership, while San Antonio's Matthew Trevino and Rubina Sanchez were honored for their contributions as an elementary leader and school counselor, respectively. The awards process involved nominations, rigorous application reviews by education students, and selection by panels of administrators, community leaders, and former winners. Since 2002, H-E-B's program has awarded over $14 million to educators across Texas. Admiral William H. McRaven delivered the keynote address, emphasizing the importance of recognizing educators who inspire future generations.
