SolarEdge Ships U.S.-Made Batteries From New Utah Facility
SolarEdge Technologies has expanded its U.S. manufacturing footprint by launching a new production facility in Salt Lake City, Utah, which began producing and shipping the SolarEdge 'USA Edition' Home Battery in early 2025. This expansion complements existing manufacturing sites in Florida and Texas, enabling SolarEdge to produce its full residential suite of inverters, power optimizers, and batteries domestically, thereby supporting U.S. energy independence and creating over 2,000 manufacturing jobs. The Utah-made battery is a high-capacity, DC-coupled lithium-ion system with advanced safety certifications and a dedicated SKU to ensure compliance with domestic content regulations, designed for both new solar-plus-storage systems and retrofits. U.S. Representative Celeste Maloy praised the manufacturing growth as a sign of Utah’s leadership in America’s energy future, emphasizing the importance of building energy solutions domestically. SolarEdge’s General Manager Marty Rogers highlighted the critical role of American energy tax credits in enabling the company’s onshoring efforts and urged lawmakers to maintain these incentives to sustain domestic growth and energy innovation. This strategic move reinforces SolarEdge’s commitment to reliable, high-quality technology with shorter lead times and greater supply chain stability amid growing U.S. energy demand.
