Howe: Newcastle United not reliant on Isak's fitness
Eddie Howe, the manager of Newcastle United, has stated that the team is not a 'one-man team' despite the absence of star striker Alexander Isak due to a groin injury. Isak, the club's top scorer with 21 goals this season, missed the recent 2-0 loss to Liverpool, and his fitness for the upcoming FA Cup match against Brighton is uncertain. Howe emphasized that while Isak brings unique qualities to the team, Newcastle has other players who can step up and adapt their style of play. He expressed confidence in the team’s overall capability to succeed without Isak, although his presence is certainly missed. Newcastle, currently sixth in the Premier League, also faces a busy schedule ahead, including an EFL Cup tie against Liverpool next month. Howe highlighted the frustration of ongoing transfer rumors regarding player departures, as the club aims to strengthen its squad rather than lose key players.
