Dodgers Place Kopech on 15-Day IL, Recall Klein

Los Angeles Dodgers reliever Michael Kopech has been placed on the 15-day injured list with right knee inflammation, just weeks after returning from a shoulder impingement that sidelined him for April and May. Kopech reported knee discomfort and received a cortisone injection, describing the injury as 'uncomfortable' and is now taking a break from throwing with no set timetable for his return. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts is hopeful Kopech's IL stint will be brief. Kopech had delivered eight scoreless appearances since his June 8 return. The Dodgers, now with 12 pitchers on the IL, have recalled Will Klein from Triple-A as a replacement. Meanwhile, pitchers Blake Snell, Blake Treinen, and Tyler Glasnow are progressing in their recoveries, and Shohei Ohtani is set for his fourth start of the season.
