Suspect Charged in Lansing Walmart Fatal Shooting

Adebowale A. Oyelekan has been charged with first-degree murder following the fatal shooting of 66-year-old Victoria L. Olson in a Walmart parking lot in Lansing, Illinois. The incident occurred around 1:45 p.m. on Saturday at 17625 Torrence Avenue, where police found Olson with multiple gunshot wounds. She was transported to a local hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after. The Lake County Coroner's Office ruled her death a homicide. Oyelekan's arrest followed an investigation that involved the Lansing Police Department, the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force, and the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Unit. He is expected to appear in court in Markham, Illinois, as authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
