In a recent SiriusXM interview, he reflected on the show's legacy, acknowledging that the original TGIF format is no longer viable in today's television landscape. White noted that he was offered a vague contract with low pay, emphasizing his desire to advance the legacy rather than simply cash in. He also expressed that the humor of Family Matters would not resonate with modern audiences, contrasting it with the approach taken by Fuller House. Additionally, White shared in his new book that a proposed reboot concept featuring Urkel and Laura Winslow as parents did not appeal to him, as he felt it was outdated. Instead, he suggests a fresh take on the story, potentially adapting the format to a single-camera style like Young Sheldon.
