Violence Erupts in Bahraich During Idol Immersion

Violence erupted in Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, following a dispute during a Durga idol immersion, resulting in the death of a local youth, Ram Gopal Mishra. Clashes between two communities led to the vandalism and arson of multiple properties, including shops and a hospital, prompting the local government to suspend internet services to quell unrest. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath dispatched senior officials to the area, where over 50 individuals have been detained for rioting, and several others are being sought in connection with the violence.
