Springsteen Biopic Premieres Spotlight Gala NY Film Festival

Scott Cooper's biopic, Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere, starring Jeremy Allen White as Bruce Springsteen, will premiere as the Spotlight Gala at the 2025 New York Film Festival on September 28, with Springsteen and cast members expected to attend. The film, adapted from Warren Zanes's 2023 best-selling book, focuses on a pivotal early-1980s period in Springsteen’s career as he creates the Nebraska album and demos for Born in the U.S.A., while grappling with personal and familial challenges. The drama highlights the songwriting process, Springsteen's rising fame, and his personal struggles, offering an intimate portrait of the iconic musician beyond his larger-than-life persona. Supporting cast includes Jeremy Strong as manager Jon Landau, Stephen Graham and Gaby Hoffmann as Springsteen’s parents, along with Paul Walter Hauser, David Krumholtz, and Odessa Young. Produced by Cooper, Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Eric Robinson, and Scott Stuber, the film is set for theatrical release by 20th Century Studios on October 24. Cooper expressed deep gratitude for bringing this story to New York audiences, while the festival’s artistic director praised the film's intimacy and immediacy, drawing inspiration from Springsteen's Nebraska album.
