Hannah Kobayashi Case Closed After Return

Hannah Kobayashi, a 30-year-old woman from Hawaii, was found safe after a high-profile missing persons case that began when she disappeared from Los Angeles International Airport on November 8. The Los Angeles Police Department announced on December 15 that Kobayashi voluntarily crossed into Mexico shortly after her arrival, leading to a nationwide search and concerns about her wellbeing, including fears of trafficking. Upon her return to the U.S. on December 15, Customs Border Protection confirmed she appeared in good health. Kobayashi expressed gratitude for the support received during her absence but emphasized the need for privacy as she focuses on healing after her father's tragic suicide during the search. The LAPD has since closed the case, removing her from the Missing and Unidentified Persons System. Investigators found no evidence of foul play or trafficking in her case.
