Pensacola Airport Opens New Parking Lot

Pensacola International Airport is set to open a new 434-space long-term parking lot on November 20, just in time for the holiday travel season, aiming to accommodate a 15% increase in passenger traffic year-over-year. The $4.4 million project includes 14 electric vehicle charging stations and a shuttle service to the terminal, with rates set at $2 per hour and a daily maximum of $9. Meanwhile, Durango-La Plata County Airport anticipates its busiest Thanksgiving season ever, launching a temporary shuttle service to a remote lot with 171 spaces due to high parking demand. Orlando International Airport is also preparing for heavy traffic, expecting over 1.9 million travelers and adding more than 2,000 parking spots compared to last year, while implementing a reservation system for parking. These developments reflect growing challenges airports face to accommodate rising passenger numbers during peak travel times.
