Cineverse Acquires 'Wolf Creek: Legacy' for 2026 Theatrical Release

Cineverse and its horror division, Bloody Disgusting, have acquired the North American rights to 'Wolf Creek: Legacy,' the third installment of the iconic Australian slasher franchise, with filming set to start this year and a theatrical release anticipated in fall 2026. John Jarratt will reprise his role as the infamous Outback Killer, Mick Taylor, alongside actors Jay Ryan and Laura Gordon. The film, directed by Sean Lahiff and produced by franchise creator Greg McLean, follows a family of American tourists who become victims in Mick Taylor's hunting grounds after the parents sacrifice themselves for their children. McLean expressed excitement about returning to the franchise with a 'fantastic and genuinely frightening script,' while Cineverse's president praised the film as a perfect addition to their horror library, which includes 'Terrifier 3.' The project aims to deliver a raw and gritty cinematic experience, appealing to both longtime fans and newcomers to the series.
