Utah Jazz sign

Max Abmas, a standout guard from Texas, has signed with the Utah Jazz after impressing during the NBA Summer League. He averaged 19.9 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 3.4 assists in his final collegiate season, following a successful career at both Texas and Oral Roberts, where he led the NCAA in scoring in 2021. The terms of his contract have not been disclosed, but it is expected to be an Exhibit 10 camp deal, allowing him a chance to compete for a spot on the Jazz's 15-man roster. Abmas will join a backcourt that includes Keyonte George, Collin Sexton, and Jordan Clarkson, but immediate playing time may be limited as he could initially play in the G League. Abmas was also recognized for his academic excellence, being named the 2023-24 Men's Basketball Academic All-America Team Member of the Year. His potential contributions to the Jazz will be assessed during the upcoming training camp.
