Search Intensifies for Missing Pitt Student in DR

Sudiksha Konanki, a 20-year-old University of Pittsburgh student from Virginia, has gone missing while on a spring break trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. She was last seen on March 6 around 4:50 a.m. at the Riu Republica Resort beach, wearing a brown bikini and distinctive jewelry. Authorities in the Dominican Republic, along with the Indian embassy and U.S. officials, are conducting a search operation that includes drones and military helicopters. The University of Pittsburgh and Loudoun County Sheriff's Office are coordinating with Konanki's family to support the search efforts. Konanki was part of a group of six female students traveling together, and there is currently no indication of foul play. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.
