Taylor Swift has officially regained ownership of the rights to her entire music catalog, including her first six albums, music videos, concert films, album art, and unreleased songs, marking what she calls her "greatest dream come true." The rights were purchased from Shamrock Capital, a private equity firm that acquired them from Scooter Braun in 2020, ending a prolonged battle that began when Braun bought the catalog from Big Machine Records in 2019 without Swift's consent. Swift expressed deep gratitude toward Shamrock Capital for handling the deal with fairness and respect, contrasting it with her past struggles with ownership. As part of her efforts to reclaim control, she has been re-recording her early albums, releasing "Taylor’s Version" editions, though she noted that she has yet to re-record her 2017 album "Reputation," citing its unique nature. Braun responded positively to Swift's announcement, expressing happiness for her achievement. The success of her Eras Tour and fan support for her re-recordings were pivotal in enabling Swift to buy back her music outright and gain full autonomy over her artistic work.
