ABC Renews Five Unscripted Shows Including American Idol for 2025-26 Season

ABC has renewed five of its popular unscripted series for the 2025-2026 season, including American Idol, Shark Tank, Celebrity Wheel of Fortune, Celebrity Jeopardy!, and America’s Funniest Home Videos (AFV). American Idol will return for its 24th season overall and ninth on ABC, with the current judging panel likely to return alongside host Ryan Seacrest. Shark Tank is renewed for its 17th season, continuing with its panel of investors, while Celebrity Wheel of Fortune and Celebrity Jeopardy! are renewed for their sixth and fourth seasons, respectively. AFV, the network’s longest-running unscripted show, will enter its 36th season, hosted by Alfonso Ribeiro. Notably absent from the renewals are The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, with the latter skipping its usual summer 2025 run amid behind-the-scenes controversies, and no decisions yet made about their future. Alongside these renewals, ABC has also extended several scripted series and ordered a new 9-1-1 spinoff, though the fate of the drama Doctor Odyssey remains undecided.
