The revamped format removes first-round byes, requiring all 12 remaining teams and their 48 players to compete from the quarterfinals onward, while introducing a high-stakes play-in match on August 20 between the two lowest-ranked teams to determine the final quarterfinalist. Matches consist of two singles and one alternate-shot foursomes match, with match play on Friday and Saturday, culminating in a stroke-play finale on Sunday where all players' individual scores contribute to team totals. A new tactical element allows the higher-seeded team captain to see the opponent's lineup before finalizing their own, potentially influencing match dynamics. The changes aim to increase fan engagement by providing more opportunities to watch top players and intensifying competitive pressure throughout the week, with a total prize purse of $50 million and $14 million for the winning team.
