New England Revolution Win 2-1 Over New York Red Bulls
The New England Revolution celebrated their first victory of the MLS season by defeating the New York Red Bulls 2-1 at Gillette Stadium. Carles Gil was the standout player, scoring both goals for the Revolution, including a decisive penalty in the seventh minute of stoppage time after Ignatius Ganago was fouled. Prior to that, Gil opened the scoring with a stunning free kick from outside the box in the 28th minute. The win is particularly significant for the Revolution, who have had a strong record against the Red Bulls at home, now standing at 7 wins, 1 draw, and 1 loss in their last nine encounters. Head coach Caleb Porter expressed satisfaction with the team's performance, noting they deserved the win based on their chances created. The Revolution are now looking to build on this momentum as they continue their season.
