On India's 78th Independence Day, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy hoisted the national flag at Golconda Fort, emphasizing the importance of non-violence in the freedom struggle and acknowledging the contributions of leaders like Nehru and Gandhi. He announced an unexpected extension of the Rythu Bharosa scheme, providing Rs 12,000 to farm labourers, and reiterated the commitment to support farmers with Rs 15,000 per acre. Reddy discussed his recent discussions with the World Bank President about securing low-interest loans for state development and highlighted ongoing loan waivers benefiting over 6.40 lakh farmers. He also revealed plans for new education initiatives and drug control measures, among others. Throughout his address, he celebrated the legacy of India's independence and the Congress party's role in shaping modern India. Similar celebrations were held across the country, including remarks from Karnataka's Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister.
