Nashville Council Approves Morgan Wallen Bar Sign

Morgan Wallen's Nashville bar, This Bar & Tennessee Kitchen, has finally received approval for a 20-foot neon sign after a previous rejection from the Metro Nashville City Council back in May. The council voted 30 to 1 in favor of the sign on December 17, following Wallen's recent court appearance where he pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges related to a reckless chair-throwing incident. The initial rejection stemmed from concerns about Wallen's controversial behavior, including his past use of a racial slur and the chair-throwing incident that put him in legal trouble. Despite these issues, Wallen's bar, which opened in June, is part of a trend of celebrity-owned venues in Nashville, and aims to celebrate country music's cultural ties. Wallen expressed his desire for the bar to resonate with his fans and reflect his East Tennessee roots. The sign will enhance the visibility of the venue located in Nashville's Lower Broadway entertainment district.
