Mercedes-Benz Unveils All-Electric CLA Prototype

Mercedes-Benz is set to launch the all-electric CLA model, built on its new Modular Architecture (MMA), in 2025 as a 2026 model. This model promises significant advancements in efficiency, featuring a two-speed transmission and an 800-volt electrical architecture that allows for rapid DC fast charging. CEO Ola Källenius highlighted the integration of technology from the Vision EQXX concept, aiming for a range exceeding 460 miles based on European testing standards. In addition to the electric variant, a hybrid version will also be available, expanding the CLA lineup. The design includes attention-grabbing star-shaped headlights and a responsive AI virtual assistant, enhancing user interaction. The CLA is expected to compete directly with the Tesla Model 3 and BMW i4, with a starting price around $50,000.
