Victor Hugo Escobedo, 52, was arrested for allegedly kidnapping a woman and her two-year-old daughter at gunpoint from the Cielo Vista Mall parking lot in El Paso, Texas. The incident occurred on September 6, when Escobedo approached the victim while she was securing her child in the car and forced her to drive to a bank to withdraw money. While the mother was inside the bank, he waited in her vehicle with the toddler. After the withdrawal, he made her return to the parking lot, where he took her cash and cell phone before fleeing. Escobedo has been charged with aggravated robbery and two counts of aggravated kidnapping with a deadly weapon, and his bond is set at $550,000. The El Paso Police Department is encouraging anyone with additional information about the incident to come forward.
