Lisa Kudrow's 'The Comeback' Plans Final Season with Expanded Cast for 2026
HBO's comedy series "The Comeback," starring Lisa Kudrow as Valerie Cherish, is returning for its third and final season in 2026, continuing to follow the washed-up sitcom actress's efforts to revive her career. The show, created by Kudrow and Michael Patrick King, originally aired in 2005 with a second season in 2014, and has since grown into a cult classic. The upcoming season will feature new recurring guest stars including John Early, Abbi Jacobson, Barry Shabaka Henley, Tony Macht, Brittany O’Grady, Zane Phillips, and Julian Stern—Kudrow's son making his TV debut. Original cast members Dan Bucatinsky, Laura Silverman, Damian Young, along with Matt Cook, Tim Bagley, Ella Stiller, and Jack O’Brien, are also returning or joining in undisclosed roles. The season's plot remains largely under wraps, but teasers suggest Valerie will be involved in another sitcom, continuing the show's mockumentary style satire of the entertainment industry. Production has begun for the season, which will be available on HBO and HBO Max.
