Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif Addresses UN General Assembly Highlighting Regional Conflicts Climate Crisis

At the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif delivered a historic speech addressing critical global and regional issues, including the recent military conflict between Pakistan and India. He condemned India's aggression, justified Pakistan's military response under Article 51 of the UN Charter, and highlighted the Pakistani armed forces' success, including the downing of seven Indian fighter jets. The Prime Minister also drew international attention to human rights violations in Kashmir and the plight of Palestinians, condemning specific acts of violence. He praised the ceasefire facilitated by former U.S. President Donald Trump's intervention and thanked other global powers for their role in preventing wider conflict. Additionally, Sharif emphasized the urgent challenges of climate change and called for strengthened multilateralism to address global crises. Federal Minister Attaullah Tarar echoed these sentiments, describing the speech as a powerful representation of Muslim concerns and praised Sharif's effective advocacy on both Palestine and Kashmir.
