Yankees Avoid Sweep, Injured Stars Likely to Return
The New York Yankees avoided a sweep by defeating the Los Angeles Dodgers 7-3 in the final game of their series at Dodger Stadium. Ryan Yarbrough held the Dodgers to one run over six innings, using off-speed pitches for 17 swings and misses. Ben Rice hit a 425-foot, two-run homer and DJ LeMahieu contributed his first four-hit game since 2021, with Oswald Peraza adding an RBI. Dodgers starter Yoshinobu Yamamoto struggled, giving up seven hits and four runs in 3 2/3 innings. Yankees outfielder Jasson Dominguez (left thumb contusion) and reliever Luke Weaver (hamstring) left with injuries but are not expected to require a stint on the injured list. The Yankees matched the Dodgers' pace and avoided their first sweep of the season.
