Guignard, Fabbri win third consecutive European ice dance title

Italian ice dancers Charlène Guignard and Marco Fabbri clinched their third consecutive European title at the championships in Tallinn, scoring a total of 212.12 points. They led from the rhythm dance to the free dance, showcasing a creative routine with high grades of execution, including several level-four elements. Their closest competitors, Evgeniia Lopareva and Geoffrey Brissaud from France, earned silver with 206.76 points, while British duo Lilah Fear and Lewis Gibson took bronze with 206.06 points, highlighting a tightly contested event. The championships have been marred by tragedy, following a mid-air collision near Washington, D.C., claiming the lives of skaters and coaches. Guignard and Fabbri aim to build on their success as they prepare for the World Championships in Boston. The event also saw Estonia's Niina Petrokina unexpectedly winning gold in the women's category after a remarkable performance.
