Former Charlton Boss Dean Holden Joins Hull City Coaching Team

Dean Holden has been appointed as assistant head coach at Hull City, working alongside new head coach Sergej Jakirovic. Holden, 45, brings extensive coaching experience, including managerial spells at Bristol City, Charlton Athletic, and caretaker roles at Oldham Athletic and Stoke City. His most recent roles were assistant manager positions at Turkish club Adana Demirspor and Saudi Arabian side Al-Ettifaq, where he worked under Steven Gerrard. Holden's primary responsibility at Hull City will be to oversee the defensive side of the team, focusing on making the squad compact, organized, and solid behind the ball. He credits his recent experiences abroad for making him a more rounded coach and is eager to return to a division he knows well. Holden joins a new-look backroom staff under Jakirovic, who values Holden's Championship experience and shared vision for the game.
